I don’t post my kiddo on my public IG but I am one proud momma! Today my 5.5 year old finished his second 5k AND he earned third place for boys under age 12! Eli kept a great pace even after skinning his knee, and he was so determined. When he said he was tired or was expressing frustration or doubts he could do it, I was reminding him we need water breaks and we can adjust the pace, and quoting Marnie’s mantras of “we can do hard things” and “as long as we’re going in the right direction it doesn’t matter how fast or slow we are going.” For a competitive racer that wouldn’t apply, but for our purposes it’s perfect. I like modeling and engaging him in healthy habits, and even though I still don’t like running I’ll always run for a cause (today was pancreatic cancer). I’m sharing as I’m proud of him AND b/c M/BODY influences me on and off the mat (and trickles down to my little one).

Another favorite 60 min! The abs/floor series was incredible and what a release that was laying/sitting on the ball. I need to do that every day. AND I cannot wait to exercise with Marnie, and as many of you from the global fam as possible, in NYC 😍I’m not sure my heart can stand all this excitement - it might just burst!

Anyone else dissolve into hysterical giggles and flail around on the floor like an upturned tortoise whenever Marine does an ab move that defies the laws of physics? Or just me?

Happy Friday everyone! Just had to share a few things I’ve been thinking about as a result of the Cinco de Mayo class I finally did yesterday.

1.	I recently came out of Covid. It lasted for longer than I expected, which meant I allowed my body time to heal and didn’t exercise for a little less than 2 weeks. I eased my way back on Sunday, and I was sore from classes that I wouldn’t normally be sore from! At first, I was frustrated. But then, in light of the thread on this board started so bravely by Nicole, instead of getting mad at myself for going backward and losing muscle, I changed my thought process: time away allowed me to appreciate how strong I was just a few weeks ago near the end of the challenge! Wow!! Like Marnie says, it’s all about meeting ourselves where we’re at, and being the observer/feeler not the judge. Truly loving my time back on the mat - a little time away gave me perspective and allowed me space to realize how much I love and treasure M/Body. Cannot wait to meet some of you IRL in NYC!! Sending love!

2.	I thought of Liza Mary when doing the class - was channeling her dancing and loving every song!!

Hey guys. In class we always work on confidence both with our heart opening/back strengtheners, and by the beautiful gentle words Marnie always leaves us with.

However I’ve always struggled with low self esteem. No matter what I do I can’t seem to love my body. I’m so critical of it, things like “why can’t I be smaller?” “I hate my broad shoulders” and “I wish I was less sensitive!” are all phrases that cross my mind regularly. And I’m not sure why but lately I’ve been feeling extra worthless, both in my body and my abilities.

Do you have any tips or tricks to bolster your self esteem, or even just lift your mood for little? I’ll take any suggestions!

Victoria gave me the idea to start sharing Marnie’s closing meditations as journal prompts. Today, I did /143 and the prompt was:

“you can rise from anything. You’re not stuck. Nothings permanent. All that matters is you decide to do it. Decide to do it today. Never look back. Is there something that comes into your heart or into your thoughts that you could shrug off in this next exhale?”

I’m shrugging off control. Releasing expectations. I’m a Scorpio and I really felt the energy from Sunday’s full super flower moon lunar eclipse. I want to stay in that energy of releasing to make space for the new and beautiful things to come my way ❤️
