Weighted vest disappointment. I definitely think results or benefits are overblown! I had a baseline bone density and body scan in March and then a follow up in October. From Spring through Fall I drastically increased my weighted vest walks to enjoy the weather and sunlight and get after those 10k steps all the menopause people are talking about, aka less Mbody.

It was disheartening to see that my bone density decreased in my October scan. I wasnt expecting an increase, but I definitely wasnt expecting a decrease! I figured it would be the same. I feel like the weighted vest walks are marketed and discussed like an alternative to workouts. Plus, after a month am I supposed to increase the weight? I added ankle weights, but I am not interested in buying new workout stuff every month.

My lesson is that I wont be swapping my Mbody for long walks as much next year. I’ll go back to my goal of 6k+ steps, achievable through mental wellness walking breaks throughout my workday.

Squat Positioning??

Greetings Fam,

I hope you are well. Recently, it feels like there has been all this talk about the benefits of squatting everyday. I enjoy squatting and can stay in that position for a period of time, but I realized that maybe I am doing it wrong. I am hoping someone can share what the best position is for a squat to reap the most benefit.

I hope I can describe this well, but basically, when I am in a squat now, my tailbone is curved in and my body weight feels like it is resting on my heels; however, when I try to straighten my spine, the back of my thighs and calves separate a little and I feel my weight shift to my thighs. Obviously, in this second position, I can’t comfortably stay there as long as my legs will start to feel the burn.

If anyone has suggestions, thoughts on this. Maybe there are many ways to do a squat that stretch and sculpt different muscles. I would love some insight from all of you beautiful humans.

After doing planksgiving today, and having heard familiar names of the shout outs, I wanted to say a special hello to Steph (my Canadian girl), Lizymary, Faith, Brit...I remember our insta posts sharing our journeys when covid hit and we became insta pals. Just did today's live after work and wow, Chloe!!! You ARE cool and congratulations to you for your little one. I'm in Canada and will be able to attend Planksgiving! Hi..Thanksgiving is hard. I’m reaching out to say it outloud. Regardless of the difficulty, for the past 4 years, and now 5, I celebrate with a Planksgiving class. It’s me, my basement, my headphones, and usually Signature 46. I invite any to join in a Planksgiving class in hopes that the solidarity has an uplifting effect because gosh could I use it; and just maybe that means someone else could too.
