45/45 i hit my goal!
My goal was 30/60 and to learn to love planks. My rule for the challenge was resting immediately for 1 set of 8 every time I would feel like giving up or was starting to lose form, instead of throwing in the towel. I brought my weights on a family holiday and stayed committed also through hosting in laws. What happened is that after the first part of the challenge I decided to try and not rotate the classes too much and do them more and less in the order of the board. This slowed me down a bit but I still am glad I did it because I tended to avoid 60 min and the plank heavier classes before. I have certainly gained more upper-body strength than I thought I would. During this challenge I also managed to attend my first live finally. A plank class!
Last week I beat the office planking record at work and it gave me such a boost. I credit M/Body entirely for that! Over all it was really good to have a goal, a structure for my summer workouts and though I didnt reach the 30/60 that I wanted I am content. 'There are no solutions, only tradeoffs' has been the mantra of this summer and what I have gained matters more at this point than the numbers on the board. Super grateful for Marnie's guidance and for the awesome community π
I started out strong and when I looked through pics and calendars I noticed how positive, motivated, and felt so much momentum! My original goal was 60, but had to modify to 30 out of 60 days half way through as not to add stress to the stress I was feeling in life. When we decided to give our 30 days notice to terminate our current lease- instead of leaning into the challenge (which would have helped me) I began spiraling into a weird funk.
However, through this reflection, I realize again how important this group to me! Ended up accomplishing 42 exercises in 60 days (some outside of M/Body) and 37 self care activities.
I know how important exercise is to my mental health. Soo very grateful for this community. ππππ«ππ«°ππΈπ¦π₯³
I finished 49 workouts and 29 wellness challenge activities. My goal was to go for 60, but life happens! I had a great time doing the challenge with you all. Canβt wait for the next one!
51/60 Days! So glad I managed to prioritize myself, it wasn't easy but I did my best and that's enough! So proud of all the challengers! We did it!!! ππππππ
When I set out on this challenge, I had big aspirations to do 60/60, but life is not that straightforward sometimes. Growth isnt linear. I had many unexpected work trips which cut into my energy and availability. But the guilt over those βmissed workoutsβ did not outweigh the lake days, the slow mornings making brunch with family and working in the garden, and the many amazing reunions in my travels and met some #mbodyfam Laurie!! along the way. I canβt hide that Iβm bummed in my performance but Iβm trying to practice self compassion and gratitude. Tonight I made a pact with myself to redo the last 30 days at my own pace, to get back into a good rhythm and feel good in my body again like I did in the first half of the challenge. Iβll continue to lean on the love of this fam, and offer up my support to yβall as well β€οΈ 26/60 was worth every second, every breath, every drop of sweat. Im so happy to be here β€οΈ
