I just had to share my useful if not slightly painful lessons learned from being a lapsed M/Body participant. I hope this helps the "older" members of this community. I'm 55 and realized that I needed to return to lifting much heavier weight. For many months now, I reduced my M/Body workouts from 4-6 times per week to only 1 while doing heavy lifting circuits 4-5 days per week. Every time I come back to M/Body, I get my ass kicked: my balance is way off, I'm drenched in sweat, and I fatigue much more quickly than in the past. While this is wonderful in many ways to challenge myself, it has also been very humbling. I realize the importance of BALANCE and how impactful M/Body has always been for my brain and body. My new goal is 3 M/Body workouts per week and 3 heavy strength/circuit training.ย ๐
Happy December, all! Havenโt been able to join many lives lately ๐ฟ but am following along after the fact - it was great to hear Marnie shout out to all of us catching up ๐ฅณ /333! โ๐ผ๐ซ
For anyone interested, this is a glimpse of fall where I am in Japan ๐ฏ๐ต So serene, isnโt it? Iโm so thankful I live in a country with four seasons to enjoy ๐ Itโs harder for me to feel connected here since I canโt join lives or IRLs or post on Instagram, but I hope that in sharing a part of my life here I can do my part in feeling like a member in this community. Itโs been over 1.5 years since I joined! I considered leaving a few months ago because our ยฅ (Yen) rate is horrid against $ (USD), but no other platforms motivate me as much as M/BODY so I budget in other areas because my physical health contributes to my mental well-being immensely... The upcoming lives look incredible and Iโm glad to be here! Happy holidays to everyone ๐ค
Yesterday I had my private Zoom with Marnie. It was a truly unbelievable experience. And yes I did get emotional meeting Marnie. Having her and all of you in my life this past year has been a real blessing. 2023 has been a tough one and all of you helped me to handle it with sweat, love and grace.
The playlist that Marnie put together for me was awesome! I was singing along and smiling through it all. Don't get me wrong. Marnie truly kicked my butt. During our final plank (the dreaded 4 counts of 8), I barely hung on through the first 3 counts before I dropped to my knees. And what did Marnie do? She restarted the final 8 counting when I got back into proper plank position!!! ๐๐คฃ I couldn't help but smile and laugh!
Kudos to Katelyn who resolved our technical issues!
Meeting Marnie will definitely be the highlight of this year. Now to meet her IRL!
Have a great holiday season everyone. And if December is a tough month for you, I'm here to listen if you need me ๐๐๐
Holiday Feels classes! I had to do it as your community theme girl. Hi, itโs me again.
Anyone up for a mini self challenge and knock them all out before Christmas? Or maybe visit one on a decision fatigue day if thatโs where youโre at.
Iโm not quite in the spirit yet myself, but pulled the classes on a playlist to hopefully get my future self more in the mood with these energy classes. 152 is a fave with a fabulous joy filled TSwift cardio dance series along with Mariah Carey because, have to.
Hello gorgeous fam๐
Tomorrow I officially end my forties and start a new decade at 50 years old. Itโs been a tremendous journey this last five years but I feel ready to begin some new adventures and to love! Love life, people, places and all the joy in between! Grateful to Marnie and the M/BODY team these past nine(!) years, theyโve guided me through perimenopause(now menopause) injuries, all the birthdays/celebrations, body issues, confidence building and brought me a whole tribe of people that I trust and love. In the old studio days I lived close enough to walk, they watched my little boy in the reception area so I could dance, I had never felt such love amd support from so many people. So I celebrate my fifty trips around the Sun with a big, grateful and love filled thank you to my tribe of warriors, women who lift and inspire, and always help me find the joy. ๐Be in the light, lovelies!๐๐๐xT
Happy Saturday G/Fam! Sitting out the live today - still feeling under the weather. Have a great time! xoย
FurBaby Story -- This is Lady, a 1 year old pocket Labrador (max 40-50) lbs. I am fostering her and training her for an organization I have been volunteering at for over 10 years called Shelter to Soldier (sheltertosoldier.org). We adopt shelter dogs and provide them for free to Post 911 TBI/PTSD Veterans (for life). It takes anywhere from 6 months to 18 months for her to be an accredited service dog. Anyway she is the sweetest girl and will make her Veteran very happy. She will participate in speed dating to find her ideal Veteran in about 6 months and then they will work together for 6 months before graduating as a team. This has been the most rewarding thing in my live and I am honored to see the growth of both the dog and Veteran through their journeys. In this photo, she has just finished 20 min training and is spent! Enjoy...
