Beautiful class... such a full-body movement. I felt the work in my arm muscles, back, core, glutes, and legs. I felt Louise with the struggle to keep those arms engaged with the weights, My legs were shaking when we kept dropping (that was before the one leg dancing, my oh my!). Marnie's words woven throughout class were chef's kiss for motivation, kindness, and keeping engaged in the work. I knew I needed the mat with life's heaviness, and while this class brought the speed and energy and I was not totally matching it I could at least rewind to keep up. My body, my heart, and my mind are so damn grateful for M/BODY.

As others and specifically Lindsey J said, this class is a different feeling core class. We are standing, we are flowing, we are standing with some balance checks, we are on the mat. We have moments of aerobic rise then back to anaerobic, the pace is quick but not fast. This felt like "everything but the kitchen sink" core class, as we engage so many connecting parts and spaces and it is far from all on the mat or just pushups and planks. This is when you want a full-body feel to a core class. The Movement ball is great to incorporate in those last maybe 3-4 minutes of class down on the mat. Not needed for class but a great add-on.

Echoing others on this all-standing barre sculpt class, where those ankle weights we can have on from the very start of class add some serious burn to the legs, which are already feeling it. Holding our posture works our core and those leg lifts work the booty. I did this in an early evening time, which was perfect to release some stress of the day but also welcome the calm for the night ahead.

Salt water (tears, sweat) heals… so come to this class when you are ready to pair movement with tears, to be present with the weight of grief and be reminded of the encompassing love that wraps around you and connected you with the one you loved. Marnie is our warrior who is visibly working hard to remind us of the point of loving even when the loss makes it heavy to breathe. Movement-wise this class brings traditional Signature moves and class sequence of a 60-Signature in a simple but impactful way. I think it was Maggi K who suggested during the Live to call the fun and messy move “The Bourbon” (where we are down on the mat in tabletop position and doing a one leg lift/kick sequence that ends with us down on the mat on our other glutey/hip with leg extended). That move is messy at first, it will bring a smile to you, and you’ll need a good pat afterward for your efforts. While that part required an active brain, much of the class is simple enough to focus on how your body feels in the here and now and moving with the playlist (dedicated to Bourbon and the love that fur baby brought with him most especially to Marniemom). Goodness knows I have cried on the mat over the years, and this is a great class when you want to feel your body and feel your feelings. Sending all the love to Marnie and Katelyn who are individually handling a LOT and collectively showed up for this Live.

Gosh I adore Healing Hips classes! This one was so good- it was a recovery flow stretch that kept pace with a few brief holds. We are actively using our legs, glutes, core, arms in stretch and go from standing (and in wide second) down to the floor in some lunge expressions and beautiful bends of knees and leaning our front foot on its blade. We have optional one leg downward dog incorporated, but beyond that we are not doing downward dogs and no snaking in and out of plank expressions. This class maintains a lyrical sense to movements that feels so beautiful in motion, and the newer choreography and closing stretch was bringing a calm joy to my mat. This does have a paced flow, but I did this in the evening and feel focused but calm. Thank you for the gift of this class to my nervous system! (Another class added to my Favorites list)

No equipment, activates the heart rate, and brings your attention to the life (or moments of the afterlife) in our legs. This class provides a glorious stretch and sculpt in our legs, hips, and glutes. We’re on our wrists a bit, so incorporating the rock back to release the body weight from our wrists is helpful if you need. This was warming and paced and full of love and support, with another LA inspired playlist. 🩵 Optional movement ball under your neck while on the mat. When I come back to this class I’ll grab my hand weights for our cardio dance for added funsies.

Monique did this class again and it is so, so good! “Relax and receive.” It stretches my neck, shoulders, and down my back so beautifully. Whether it’s being tall with long limbs or the tightness in my neck/shoulders, I use a long lightweight Turkish towel (as I do the towel dance classes) and that longer length serves me better than a hand towel.
