I wanted a shorter class and reading that this was a challenge for me the first time was an invitation to return. Class flies by, but oh my goodness the core/abs and shoulders FEEL it. Movement ball for support is fabulous!

Yes Kendall!! Way to add more power to your leg and glutes! I am fortunate enough to now have a movement mini ball which fits better behind my knee, but before hand I would often use a dumbbell so it would stay put if the regular ball was too big or my leg too sweaty. Get it!! 💪

Beautiful class amidst and despite the fires burning in LA, (home of M/BODY). Messages of healing salt water, community, and support as well as loving on our late December and January birthdays in our #mbodyglobalfam. So let those emotions FLOW along side a LA music playlist. For this class we can use hand weights a bit heavier than usual (5 lbs.), if we want to. We focus on opening our chest and strengthening our postural and back muscles. The barre choreography felt so good and yet so burny so lean into it for your legs and booty. I loved the movement from the barre to the floor and back again; my M/ovement ball went rolling away at first but I got her. I love anything held behind our knee in all fours position and this class invited a one leg up and one knee down push-up into cat position and I was delighted. The ball under our ribs for some arm and leg lifts while tummy down was challenging but the stretch and hold of the muscles felt wonderful. Great 45 minute work and my heart (and my booty) thanks you for it.

Glad you’re on the mend, Eva! Listening to your body and what you needed to rest and heal is a gigantic accomplishment. Welcome back to the mat, darling!

I did the playback in the catalog and had already heard in some group chats this class had a great playlist and some sleepover fun cardio dancy moves. All true! This class only uses hand weights and the movement ball is a strong option for behind our back while in a crunch position on the mat. Class is lower impact, but bouncy and comprised of quick movements. We are engaging balancing with one leg lifts, we incorporate a lot of arms with legs, center line body crossing, and go from standing to down on the mat and back again. Some glorious kickboxing style front and side kicks with punches are included- Horray! Full body, quick pace, but Marnie shows a lot of variations and even the pace of different sequences shift to remind us of options and what it could look like. Class went by quickly, was fun, was very warming (as a snow storm is expected where I live!) and while you need space for front and side leg lifts/kicks this is a wonderful on-the-go travel class even without weights. I was not looking forward to some plank postures but it was all beautiful and strengthening choreography sequences that did not leave us in the traditional plank position for more than a beat or two. The meditation at the end and closing “chat” is also wonderful and worth factoring in that time so you don’t miss out!

Returned and savored the messages within and at the end of class. All standing until the final stretches. Barre is there for postural support for the last 1/4 or so of the standing series. No jumps but we incorporate pulses, and only a short time in releve on both feet and options to raise a heel one at a time in lunge position. I’m digging revisiting the summertime classes this winter!
