Hi Jenna,
I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing tjis. My name is Tracy. I suffered from a panic disorder for many years. I still have the occasional panic attack but I'm better equipped to handle them now. Some tools for the short term: Bach's Rescue Remedy. It's a homeopathic liquid in an alcohol base that goes under your tongue, just a few drops/sprays (won't intoxicate you but it has a strong flavor). I get mine at Whole Foods. It does not make the panic attack stop but I liken it to someone placing a hand on your shoulder. It has a grounding effect. Breathing techniques - can be used anywhere, any time. Circular breathing goes like this: breathe in for a count of 4 (or whatever number is comfortable for you), hold the breath for a count of 4, then breathe out for a count of 4. Repeat several cycles. This helps center you and break out of the panic cycle. Long term, I highly reccommend Cognitive Behavorial Therapy. I did it for many years and that's where I learned how to identify the thought patterns that were causing my panic and how to break those thoughts. I hope things improve for you soon. Sending lots of love.
