I have used 1lb bala weights on my ankles during a 60 min class for the entire duration and in my opinion, I found it to be a bit of a distraction during the warm-up and cardio portions... However during the barre/glutes series, I found it to be enjoyable and beneficial for stimulating the muscles. I would def recommend for barre leg + glute and floor glute series. But if it takes you out of the form or is putting strain on you, I wouldn't recommend it. I say, give it try and see what you like!
