Hey Julie! I totally understand where you're coming from. I used have trouble in planks and push-ups and what helped was using pushup bars or dumbbells to help release the wrist. From there I would practice planks on my wrist for short periods of time gradually adding time to each set. And yes, as stated above, the wrist stretches and practicing form works helps. I noticed I used to put a lot of my body weight into my wrist and I had to (still do at times) consciously understand how to distribute my body weight.
