Returned and savored the messages within and at the end of class. All standing until the final stretches. Barre is there for postural support for the last 1/4 or so of the standing series. No jumps but we incorporate pulses, and only a short time in releve on both feet and options to raise a heel one at a time in lunge position. I’m digging revisiting the summertime classes this winter!

I did the playback in the catalog and had already heard in some group chats this class had a great playlist and some sleepover fun cardio dancy moves. All true! This class only uses hand weights and the movement ball is a strong option for behind our back while in a crunch position on the mat. Class is lower impact, but bouncy and comprised of quick movements. We are engaging balancing with one leg lifts, we incorporate a lot of arms with legs, center line body crossing, and go from standing to down on the mat and back again. Some glorious kickboxing style front and side kicks with punches are included- Horray! Full body, quick pace, but Marnie shows a lot of variations and even the pace of different sequences shift to remind us of options and what it could look like. Class went by quickly, was fun, was very warming (as a snow storm is expected where I live!) and while you need space for front and side leg lifts/kicks this is a wonderful on-the-go travel class even without weights. I was not looking forward to some plank postures but it was all beautiful and strengthening choreography sequences that did not leave us in the traditional plank position for more than a beat or two. The meditation at the end and closing “chat” is also wonderful and worth factoring in that time so you don’t miss out!
