Hi Fam!

I did the Wednesday live this morning and wiggled and wobbled my way through. Marnie’s words about showing up when we are messy immediately made me think of a post on insta, shared here. Our messy makes us who we are!

Fam! I’m starting a fully remote job on Mon. My coworker June (in photo) is thrilled! I’d love to hear from any other WFH peeps on wellness, productivity, taking a day in a coffee shop or social space, working when kids are home (summer break is coming and my boyfriend and I have his kids Sun-Wed), etc as I test out what works for me. My adjustable desk and ergonomic chair are already on the way!

Sweaty selfie from today’s Knockout Sweat 209.

Thanks and rock on!

Hi friends!

I want to send a little encouragement your way if you are considering the retreat but fears and feelings of inadequacy are popping up.

-Maybe you dont have cool workout clothes and that is stressing you out. I dont either. I have bought 90% of my workout clothes new with tags on ebay. If your clothes fit how you want them to fit for exercising, they will work!

-Maybe you arent where you want to be physically to sweat and sculpt with others. I get it and I’m your girl! I will be there in all my squishiness and softness (and gratitude for how my body does move) and we can bask in the endorphines together when we complete the classes in a way that supports us.

There are surely other instances in which you might feel you dont “belong” at a workout retreat. I never thought I would be a person to go. It is a lot of money for me as someone who grew up working class in rural Wisconsin, but I never enjoyed working out until I came here and our community is seriously amazing. I’m going for the community. I want to feel all of this in person and I want to meet you. So, if you are on the fence with feelings, just come. :)

Beat my 45/60 goal for workouts. Woohoo!! I’m not able to do the Wed class, but I will pop in to say hi and cheer us all on.

Mantras: “Honor yourself.” and “Move like you!”

Because isnt that what we are all doing here? Trying our best to honor ourselves by moving like only we do.

Morning all. I want to say thanks to you for being a bright spot in life. There is so much positivity and support and good coming out of this community!! I live in Denver where I am a Community Outreach Specialist for the FBI (not a special agent/investigator, no weapon) and with yet another shooting that occurred, I’m heartbroken and angry. I’m tired of being a person who helps shoulder the scary, nervewracking, and traumatizing and continually tries to highlight the positive that law enforcement does. If you have space, I have a few asks: 1) please send good vibes our way 2) please tell your family, friends, unrequited lovers, pets, your neighbors, strangers, etc that you appreciate them and selfishly 3) if anyone is willing to talk with me about what they do for work, I’d love to hear it because I definitely need a change after 10 years supporting law enforcement. lahapner2@gmail.com

Have a wonderful and safe day!

Wanted to share one of my fave meals: sausage and chickpeas and veggies sheet pan meal! I can eat it alone, but some prefer it with a grain. Thanks to Chelsea’s Messy Apron!

And my selfie from Saturday’s live.

Had a few emotional days so I swapped today’s floor series for Sunday’s recovery flow and grabbed a glowy selfie to catch up on the first board. My backroll-into-lunges are very cumbersome and very fun!

After two weeks, how is everyone doing on their goals?

My favorite goal has been sending a note/card to one friend per week. Just finished writing the second. I’m hoping some of them write back. Who doesnt love receiving snail mail?

1: Leave my phone outside of my bedroom Sun night - Fri night so I don’t scroll before going to bed at night or before getting out of bed in the morning. (AKA Dont cut into exercise time.)

  1. Cut back on eating out. Goal is one meal out and one i-didnt-pack-a-lunch trip to the grocery store near work per week.

  2. Send a card/write a note to a friend each week.
