Hi all! I’m super excited about the challenge, but I have a problem with using lemon in my water. I did it for many years and it ate away the enamel of my teeth. Not sure if anyone else has had this issue. I don’t think it’s super uncommon I wish it didn’t happen to me, but it did. Does anyone have another solution? I’ve heard apple cider vinegar, but that’s still pretty acidic and not great for my teeth either. Any other suggestions?

Hey Roni! I typically skip on the lemon water for those reasons, plus I've had unusual cramping before with that much water first thing. I don't really know of any other solutions at the moments. I've built confidence where listening to my body and trusting my intuition holds value regardless what others are doing or saying. Continue to do what's right for you!

Hey Roni!! I’ve recently had to quit lemon water for the same reason. I think I was just using way too much lemon, often I’d do a whole lemon and some days I’d have lemon water in the afternoon too. I was so sad to quit because I love lemon water but my teeth just couldn’t handle it! I switched to a mason jar of water with some sea salt. I’ll drink it first thing in the morning like I did with my lemon water and it still feels super hydrating!! I’ll also do half coconut water/ half regular water with some sea salt in the afternoon sometimes which is really refreshing too!! I’ve also been blending a few stalks of celery with water and will do that in the morning sometimes! None of these drinks have caused sensitivity to my teeth!

I would think that if you flush with plain water after it helps. Also maybe decrease the percentage of lemon juice? I think it makes a big difference if you DONT brush your teeth immediately after too. I remember when I was younger and playing sports that brushing after Gatorade or certain sugary (even if natural sugar from lemon juice) can wear at your enamel.

This may sound silly but I always feel better when I drink through a straw! If you position it at the back of your mouth, it reduces exposure to your teeth. Maybe try sipping a little at a time, trying to avoid teeth!
